We love Christchurch and the amazing bike fans there!! We have our evening screening of ‘Cycle Chic’ at the stunning Charles Luney Auditorium, at St. Margaret’s College with the doors open at 6:00pm and starts at 6:30pm.
An exciting new path- a ‘Sister Act’ for the Big Bike Film Night.
Who is ‘Cycle Chic’? She’s an explorer who pushes boundaries, she’s courageous and an advocate for change.
This is the kind of collection BOTH males and females will connect and enjoy, a more thoughtful tone and the perfect complement to the Big Bike Film Night. Bring your best friend, your boyfriend, or hey… bring your bike!
There are 11 compelling short films being shown in the ‘Cycle Chic’ collection which has a ‘world cinema’ feel to it.
Emerging and established film makers’ stories cover the array of cycling genres – an Urban planner whose big dream is to have a simple cycling lane in her home city (easier said than done –as it’s in East Africa), the remarkable story of an American Bike Frame Builder, a couples’ journey by bike where love and adventure come together, a London bike store owner with her unique point of difference, female bike riders from Melbourne and their fixations with riding fixed gear, and a moving story on courage and how a bike can empower communities set in the heart of South Africa.
At the heart of this collection is showing real people being part of some pretty extra-ordinary stories. The humble bike is the unifying factor throughout these films.
